About Us

Meadow Heights Learning Shop Inc (MHLS) has been operational since 1994 providing quality programs for the community of Hume. Meadow Heights Learning Shop Inc. is a Registered Training Organisation & a Neighbourhood House, providing a variety of courses and recreational programs.   MHLS is working together with Melbourne Polytechnic, Skills First and Learn Local to provide English programs for newly arrivals, migrants and refugees and the community.Keeping in line with our STATEMENT OF PURPOSE "The Learning Shop aims to improve the quality of life through adult education in a safe, non threatening environment for the community, in the areas of education, recreation, leisure and children's services."Meadow Heights Learning Shop Inc., out grew its two roomed shop, renovations were made to increase the number of rooms, however that was not sufficient for the growing numbers of newly arrivals to the area. In 2003 the VisyCares Learning Centre was built and MHLS was successful in Leasing the building from Hume City Council to address needs of the community.  The quality of programs being delivered and together with the inflation of migrants to the area, MHLS was at its full capacity. As MHLS was no longer a shop it was agreed that MHLS needed a new name so in 2016 MHLS is now trading under "Meadow Heights Education Centre" and operating within the Hume district.MHEC has:3 x Campus's within Meadow Heights4 x Campus's within CraigieburnDallas, Glenroy & Sunbury are just a few of the areas within Hume where MHEC has additional classes.  If there is a demand, then MHEC will make every effort to assist the community with further education or enhancing their employment opportunities through education.MHEC also provides recreational activities through Neighbourhood House Victoria.
