Future Developments

Meadow Heights Education Centre at all times endeavours to meet the education and social needs of the residents of Hume. To achieve this, MHEC desires to deliver all educational and community based programs in environments conducive to students learning in a supportive and relaxed environment.

In 2017 the following locations delived a variety of programs: Meadow Heights Plaza Shop 24, VisyCares Learning Centre, Buchan St Community Centre, Hume Leisure Centre, Hume Global Centre, Craigieburn Uniting Church, Glenroy Bowling Club, Craigieburn Tennis Club and our latest location Craigieburn Shopping Centre. As class numbers increase due to the influx of migrants to the area, there is the constant need for more locations to open to serve the needs of the community.

To enhance our programs MHEC is planning the following developments

1. To purchase or rent a property in Craigieburn for AMEP Classes.  ( in July 2017 MHEC leased 2 shops in the Craigieburn Plaza. Both shops were fitted out to hold a maximum of 4 classes at any one time. Launch of the new centre "Craigieburn Education Centre" was 28/11/2017)

2. Replace aged Computers and Laptops (Replaced July 2017)

3. Refurbishment of Shop 24 (Ongoing)

4. Upgrade the Outside Childcare area with a wet pour rubber surface to ensure childrens safety. (Seeking Funding)

5. Water tanks ( Hume City Council Installed 1 tank)

6. Solar Panels

7. To develop a Youth Employment Program for the unemployed (16yrs - 25yrs) in Craigieburn similar to Meadow Heights (Seeking Funding)

  1. To establish a homework club in the Craigieburn area (funding for the commencement in April, thanks to the Australian Communities Foundation)
