Course Outline

Core Units: 
Using computers as a tool to assist budgeting
How to develop a budget
How to modify a budget to meet changing needs
Elective Units: 

3 hours per week for 5 weeks


Taster Course: 

This taster course is designed to help get people out of the red and into the black, by learning how to manage their finances.  Budgeting always sounds difficult to some, however once shown how simple the methods are and by applying the neccessary tools you will be amazed.  You will then be able to start saving for that important holiday! or just putting a little away for that rainy day! Whatever your situation,this course will certainly help you organise your money better. If you enjoy the course this can lead to an accredited course in Certificate I, II and III in Business Adminstration or Certificate II in Retail.

Who is this course for?: 

Anyone who would like to manage their finances better, save for a holiday or to help get themselves debt free.  Maybe a different career path, this just maybe the start you need!

Making Payments: 

Payments can be made via:

  • Cash
  • Cheque (payable to Meadow Heights Learning Shop Inc.)
  • EFTPOS (available at reception between 9am and 4pm)
  • B-Pay if required or Net Bank Transfer
  • Direct Debit
    -Students pay via Net Bank or
    -Students visit their bank and arrange to have a fortnightly/weekly/monthly amount to be deposited into the MHLS Account

Enrolment Procedures: 

<p>To enrol in this course you will need to come in to our office at the Visy Cares Learning Centre and fill out one of our blue enrolment forms. Upon enrolment you will be asked for proof of ID (a current drivers license /key pass /proof of age card and a current green Medicare card /Australian Birth Certificate/A current Australian or New Zealand Passport/Proof of Permanent residency etc.). All materials used in class are supplied.  Please Note students are to supply a pen and notepad to class.  A USB if you would like to save your work for home use.
