MHLS Inc. Ice Bucket Challenge for MND Victoria

The staff at the Meadow Heights Learning Shop (now Meadow Heights Education Centre) became some of the millions of people world wide to be nominated to complete the ALS/MND Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness and money for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a debilitating and fatal disease. The challenge, which originated in the United States and quickly spread around the globe, involves nominees to empty a bucket of ice water on their heads.Seven staff from our centres: Teachers Arlene, Fiona, Nader, and Muzaffer; Clubhouse Assistant Luke; and Administration Assistants Abi and Rebecca, completed the challenge. Thanks to the dontations of the students at Visy Cares Learning Centre, Buchan Street Community Centre and Shop 24 at the Meadow Heights Plaza, staff and board members of the Meadow Heights Learning Shop Inc. we have raised an amazing amount of almost $900 for MND Victoria. The donations were provided by many students from CALD backgrounds who were unaware of Motor Neurone Disease and once informed were very supportive.
